Issues with floating an image, please help?
Question by Liz: Issues with floating an image, please help?
Okay so here’s whats going on. I have an image in my table and some text. What I like is that the image is pushed right up against the left side and top sides of the table, so there’s no dead space there. What I don’t like is that the text wraps around my image, it looks bad. Okay. So I use the float property to put the text on the right side and not around my image. But what happens is that LOWERS my image to align with the text, so the text and image are at the same height, and now there is a bunch of blank space around my image. There is like an inch of white space above the text and image. Also, I put a horizontal rule below the text, and the rule recognizes the text, but it isn’t recognizing the image and the image is overlapping the rulebar.
So my question is, how can I make it so both things are floated away from each other – my image is on the left, my text is on the right – but they aren’t aligned?
Also, how can I make it so both my image and text are contained above my horizontal rule?
