What do you call it when a real person is in a fiction book?

I found all of these old books and half of the characters are real people( like herself, her family, ect) but they were in a fantasy novel. What do you call it when real people are in a fiction book.

It might be called Historical Fiction. Like the movie Titanic… it was an event that happened and featured real characters, but had made-up main characters.

I dont know if its a book but almost ALL movies started off as books, have you seen October Sky? Great movie and theres most likely a book to it….i probably didnt help at all…oh well…

I can’t remember what its called or who its by… but I remember the cover was green and there were two candy Canes on the front. Its a teen fiction book and I think it came out about a year ago. I remember wanting to read it and now that it’s Christmas time I really would like to find it again to read it. Thank You!

I think its called Winter or something they have a whole series (Summer, fall, spring winter) don’t know who it is by but i know what your talking about
